Established on November 1, 1990, the Iosco-Arenac District Library began as Michigan’s first two-county regional library system. It now operates under Michigan Public Acts 24 of 1989 and 265 of 1988, as well as other applicable state and federal regulations. The eight-member Board of Trustees—four from Iosco County and four from Arenac County—is appointed by their respective County Commissions and meets at least ten times per year in accordance with the Open Meetings Act.
